Money can't buy happiness but it can buy cows, which is pretty much the same thing.
ANNOUNCEMENT
I would like to formally announce that I will be running for the National Junior Hereford Association Board this coming year. I have been dreaming about this opportunity for years, and I am down to my last chance. The NJHA Board sets such an amazing example for all who are in the cattle industry. They play such an important role in the Hereford Breed and I would love nothing more than to be part of it. My passion for the Hereford Breed began when I was just a little girl, even before I started showing cattle. I claimed my first cow, Elizabeth, in the pasture at age 4; because she was the best in the group, in my little mind. She was different, unique to me, because she was the lightest cow out there with a "pretty" face. I have been taught over the years that every cow is unique; they are all different as we well know. It is our job as cattlemen to decide what each cow's role should be that will make their unique qualities really show. We decide if they are to be show cattle, donor dams, recipient dams, or just a great one in the pasture. Now I would like the chance to show you what I can offer this incredible association, I believe my unique qualities will shine on the NJHA board and you as cattlemen will get to decide if that is where I fit. I would love your support, as I have made my cattle my priority and my passion!

Mead Cattle Enterprises is owned and operated by Tommy Mead.  Tommy has been breeding Herefords for over 30 years.  Tommy grew up on his family farm which is located in Midville, Georgia just south of Augusta, Georgia.  Tommy's passion for Hereford cattle started as a boy with a man's vision and has been growing since he was showing Herefords with 4-H and FFA.  He always says the Mead Program started as a 4-H project.

Currently, Mead cattle are being cared for by Tommy, and daughter Tommie Lynne. Tommie Lynne is currently going to college at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia.  Between working and going to school Tommie Lynne enjoys her frequent visits to the farm and helping with the care and working of the cattle.

With over 350 brood cows that exceed industry demands, consistently proving their worth in maternal traits, growth and eye appeal, while excelling in carcass merrit -- a rare combination.  The bull battery is proof of their dedication to breeding growthy, sound, stout Herefords that not only thrive in the Southeastern climate, but will flourish anywhere.  the bulls have been used and appreciated by commercial and purebred cattlemen alike.  Mead-sired herd bulls and donor cows are proving their merit in some of the Hereford industry's top herds.

We would like to give a warm welcome to the newest addition to the team, Kylie Dorr. Kylie brings a wealth of knowledge in grazing and cattle background from New Zealand. With a bright smile and a great attitude she gets it done. We now have "Mobs in our Paddocks."
